Situated in wonderful North East Tasmania, Mara ponds retreat accommodation is set in 2 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens. Taking its name from the old Golden Mara Gold Mine, Mara Ponds is, according to author Liz Francis, “a vision and a lot of love.” Her book, Gorgeous Gardens of Tasmania, claims it is the “sheer pleasure of seeing”.
Hand-built from mud bricks and timber, the self-contained accommodation comprises of a two-storey two-bedroom house and a one-bedroom self contained bed and breakfast style cottage.
Mara Ponds Retreat is close to the East Coast and northern beaches, sensational golf courses and the Blue Tiers and Derby which boast some of the best mountain biking trails in Australia.
Your hosts Anne and John invite you to experience the expansive energy of Mara Ponds as a visitor or guest.
